Brain Injury Treatments

Various treatments can help a person with a brain injury recover, reduce, or eliminate their physical, emotional, and cognitive problems. Specific treatments including type, setting, and length of treatment depend on the severity of the brain injury and the area of the brain that was injured.

Things to keep in Mind:

  • Coordinating treatments with your doctor or health care provider is critical
  • Every brain in different, as is every brain injury. Treatments that work for some may not work as well for you
  • Your healthcare provider may prescribe more than one treatment at a time
  • Time is your friend. It may take some time to see improvements. Be consistent, persistent, and patient
